We go to the early service which is more casual and the 13 yr old can wear a t-shirt if he wants. But usually, if he starts to throw to big a fit, we leave him home. He goes on Sunday & Wed evening so an occasional Sunday morning miss, is ok with me for everyone's sanity.

But, tomorrow morning, we are doing the reading-so he has to go. It might look like this on our house, but I hope not.

Hi Cheryl,
Well...Sunday morning can be hectic. We "try" not to have days like this - and usually do pretty good. The key for us is getting up early enough. If this happens, then we can usually have time for a healthy breakfast without feeling rushed, before we head out on Sunday morning. There are days, though...where somebody is grumpy, or doesn't want to go, or gets up late. But those are rare, and I'm thankful for that.

Seeing this, though, makes me wonder - what kind of facade people are putting on when we see them - if it's the "real" them we're seeing - or if they're putting on a face to match the expected part of being the "perfect family". And, in a way - that thought saddens me. Should we not be our real selves?

Thanks so much for sharing this Cheryl. I do appreciate the message - and the point that is being conveyed.
