Myth Busters and Left Brain-Right Brain
Take a look at the graphic below (if you’re subscribing via email, you’ll have to click on the title above to see this image) and tell me if you see the dancer spinning clockwise or counter clockwise.

Supposedly, if you see the dancer spinning clockwise, you’re right brained. If you see it spinning counter clockwise, you’re left brained. There are differing opinions on the matter. However, evidently most people see the dancer spinning counter clockwise.
The first time I saw this on Lateral Action, I saw the clockwise spin immediately. I couldn’t image the dancer actually spun counter clockwise. Was the theory correct? I’m definitely a right brained person but I do have the ability to think analytically. Right?
If I had any doubt about the accuracy of this demonstration, my husband settled the matter for me definitively. He’s beyond analytical and he only saw the clockwise spin (at least after one viewing). Myth busted!
I know the image is not necessarily scientifically valid. Nonetheless, it’s good to stretch your mind every once in a while.
It took three viewings for me to finally see the dancer spinning both ways. How about you?

I can only see her spin clockwise. Not sure what that means for me, but I do have a question.
Does she have to spin naked?

I saw her spin counter at first and then when i looked back she was spinning clockwise…
I am so right brained I can barely do long division ;)

What if you see her spinning both directions? When I look at her upper body I see her spinning clockwise but when I look at her feet I see her spinning counter clockwise. Mostly counter clockwise though

If she’s turning back (pulling the leg), she’s going clockwise. If she’s pushing that leg, she’s going counter-clockwise.
I understand I can see her turning in both directions, but just can visualize a dancer doing this weird movement by pushing her leg, so I can only see her going clockwise.

For me the image is spinning clockwise all the way.
I brought Gorgeous in without telling her what it meant and she kept seeing it spin first one way and then the other. She’s been told before that she is both left and right brained so maybe it’s true.

Before I read your whole post I was amazed to find her changing direction – as soon as I noticed she was clockwise, she reversed. Interesting toydoodle.

Freaky – could see both but mostly clockwise. It was like staring at one of those pictures with all the dots or the old lady / princess picture…..
