There’s just something about the girlfriends of life. Watch and see if you agree with author of The Middle Place, Kelly Corrigan.

And to my own girlfriends – those who welcomed me into a new town 20 years ago this month, and those who came along afterwards, thank you. We’ve played cards together and board games, we’ve laughed so hard we’ve cried. We gave each other pedicures and footrubs, cooked meals for one another or made vain attempts, transported kids and cared for animals. We prayed together and for one another. We’ve shared recipes, holidays, cups of coffee, bottles of wine, and yes, sometimes even a cigar or two. We’ve celebrated births and marriages, and mourned divorces and deaths. We’ve done housewarmings and house packing/moving. We’ve encouraged one another with Bible passages and songs, hymns and spiritual psalms (or is it psalms, hymns and spiritual songs?). We’ve shopped together, retreated together and served together. We have loved. And I am better because you’ve been in my life.

So what about you? Do you have a group of women in your life who are there for you? How have you experienced strength from someone in your own circle of friends? And is there someone who needs just what you have to offer? Leave your comments here!
