Twitter Brain Surgery
I’m always intrigued at how the use of social media can benefit a business, non-profit, or ministry related organization. But how about this? Twitter during a live brain surgery. (Note: WITH patient consent.)
Thanks to Dr. Ellen F. Weber for the tweet and post. Check out the ABC News segment here. It’s three minutes worth watching! More than 1900 people followed the surgery, tweeting questions and getting immediate answers.
A snippet of the surgery can be watched here (no pun intended):
Personally, I think it’s fantastic! Medical students across the country, and maybe even around the world, were afforded the opportunity to learn by watching – AND asking questions, real time. What an amazing time in which we live!
What do you think? What other possible uses might you imagine by a Twitter/medicine mashup?
