Cheryl - Wonderful coverage! And, yes, absolutely keep the sense of humor! If folks are concerned -- truly concerned -- about the fallout from their digital footprints, they'll never the the metaphorical house. I say travel boldly into yonder social media and keep your bearings about what is meaningful or threatening and what is not. Great stuff!

That said, it certainly can't hurt to read the TOS more carefully, but even at that, would it have changed my behavior? Probably not.

Keep up the nice work - Craig

P: I suppose each of us has to do a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether or not social media is worthwhile. I contend it is still a great way to keep in touch with family, friends and business professionals. And am reading all TOS these days.

Hi Cheryl,

- Thanks for the email. I can understand why your original post generated an avalanche of responses.

- You have a much more generous sense of humor than I. I would have been ticked - very.

- AIR, that original ad was not in violation of FB's Terms at the time. It seemed to be quite sanctioned. I could be wrong.

- I have zero trust for FB regarding privacy. It's a closely-held private company. After over a year with them, without going within a country mile of being a spammer, they still require "verifying" my account if I am to leave comments without clearing the Capcha obstacle each time. And to verify, they want the one thing they can't easily get by other means - my cell phone #. Land line won't do. I find it impossible to believe that has anything to do with me being a potential spammer.

I do not trust FB.

Thanks, and be blessed,
p.

I'm with you and Peter on having a sense of humor about this all. And very cool, the coverage you're getting, Cheryl! Well-deserved, and great work exposing this and really helping to make so many aware of what "could" happen...
