HI Cheryl,

When people ask me to write a recommendation I ask them if there is anything they want me to touch on or emphasize. This provides two things, a focus and a timeline... beucase often they don't respond for weeks. Helps you prioritize. If they write back right away, I post the recommendation right away. If they wait weeks before responding, I'm post when I have a chance.

Chickee,

As a master communicator, I know you will find what to say and when to say it...God's timing and provision are always perfect. And yes, I am stuck with the same dilema as we speak. I have several people I need to write recommendations for and can't quite figure out how to concisely articulate all the great things about the people who are requesting a recommendation.

Hi Cheryl,
I faced the same challenge when writing my last recommendations -it felt like there is something missing. Very useful article -especially liked the picture words...
Best,
Nicolas Ullah

Hi Cheryl

You've picked up a very current dilema.

As a recommender, I know what I want to say about the person, but often facts about the projects we worked together on, escape me!

Its great when requests come with a smart recap of the 'highlights' they'd like covered in the recommendation, so that its really useful.

Cheers,

Anita Lobo
