This is real WISDOM,Cheryl. Body, soul, spirit are all connected. How I feel affects how I see the world and function. Not surprised that God called you to Pilates. Glad you were listening....

You're exactly right Duong. The verse in 3 John clearly reminds us that God wants wholeness. Thanks for your insight and encouragement.

that's great Cheryl. I've been on tis journey for many years,
and am so passionate to see women and brothers and sisters
in Christ healthier than ever. We have a destiny to fulfill and God
wants us healthy in all areas of life.

My fave scripture that launched my health website 3 years ago
came from. 1Thes. 5:23... May Your Spirit, Your Soul and Your
Body be made Complete..." It clearly showed me that God not
only cares and wants us to focus just on our spiritual health, but our
our physical and mental health is just as vital. WE need balance.
And not enough of it is being taught in the body of Christ.

Cheryl - Great job of breaking the secret Christian "Quiet Time" Code! I agree that there is only so many hours in the day and a health, refreshing exercise can move your spirit as much as your muscles. I applaud you for breaking out of the pack and recognizing the holistic nature of God at work in us.

Great insights, Cheryl. There are a LOT of ways we can worship God. Caring for his creation (our bodies!) is one excellent way.

By the way, thanks for your comment on my post over at 300 Words.

Carol, God is truly doing a work in you during this phase of life. He uses every situation, every circumstance, to draw us into healthy relationships with Him and others. Thanks for sharing part of your journey with me. I'm thrilled that you're taking positive steps to take care of yourself. I'll be praying for consistency in the days and weeks ahead.

Can't wait for your new companion, and look forward to introducing him/her to Archie!

Cheryl, God got my attention the first part of December when I was in horrible pain, thinking that with my hip hurting so bad ALL the time that I was surely going to have to have a hip replacement. I took a chance and went to see my Chiropractor, Linda Brown at Brown Wellness Center. It was not my hip, it was my spine, 2 disc were compressed and putting pressure on my siatic nerve - what a relief. Linda worked on me for over an hour and I was able to kick and move without pain - until the pain of her working on me set in. Three weeks and not the Christmas decorations that I normally do, and I finally was pain free. I had not been to her since April, so I decided that I am going for an adjustment monthly. Getting in and out of my car and driving as much as I do, it hard on my back.

I went again yesterday for an adjustment and we talked about exercise. I make sure that Erle gets to the mall or Sam's or Krogers or (ugh) Walmart to walk for 30-45 minutes. But he is very limited in his ability to keep my pace so I slow down. Linda told me to go to the mall (less people now) and walk around once with Erle and then once by myself at my pace for My cardiovascular.

One of my strengths is caregiving. But it is also my greatest weekness and I put every one else first and run out of time for me.

God has shown me that I need to be in a weekly Bible Study and I am doing that, therefore I have to be accountable to my group to study during the week. What a difference it has made in my attitude! I had gotten to the point of exhaustion in taking Erle and Dawn to Salem every month. Erle has been totally disabled first time around by Social Security and Dawn has been diagnosed (finally after years of searching for the answer) with Gastroperesus. Now she has to work out the way she is going to live with this. Out of 8 trips to Salem to her wonderful doctor, I took her 7 times. I have told her that the decision in how they will treat her is between her and her husband, H.L.

Erle is getting a new companion maybe even tomorrow. He has wanted a dog and I have procrastinated because I do not need one more thing on my plate. But we are going to see if he and a free AKC registered Cocker Spanial connect. He is house broken and just need a loving home.

I am learning to take care of me. I am part of a Caregiver's group at my church led by Lowell Sykes who has just written a book Living Twenty Years with Althiemers. My Bible Study and my Sister's in Christ are my support and now I am getting exercise and monthly adjustments. It is a work in progress! The enemy would love for me not to stay on track.
