Good post, we all face fears, it's how we deal with them that either deepens our faith or weakens our foundation.
Just a thought…when you were home, “missing out on freedom and keeping your kids snowbound”, you were also teaching them to be afraid. Taking a deep breath and getting out in the SUV showed your children you were facing and, ultimately, conquering your fears and, more importantly, showing them “little Christ” in action.

Cheryl, this post really resonates with me today because on Saturday I faced one of my biggest fears. I tested for my 2nd degree black belt in tang soo do. I'm not a natural athlete by any means and in the past I would have quit this sport about a month into it when I discovered how hard it was for me. But I've persevered for 7 years now, and I survived Saturday. If I ever regain use of my muscles, I'll probably even return to training!

As for what pushes me, I think it's my children. It's no longer easy to cut and run like I would have in the past. Now I want to be a good role model for them.

And of course, I prayed "without ceasing" throughout that test!

I've lived in a snowy climate most of my life and I still freak out with driving in the snow. I'll do it if I have to but I'm not happy about it.

Julie, congrats on the bold move to focus on the career industry side. I suspect that's your place of greatest passion. Thanks for sharing some of your goals here. The fact that you're seeing the 2 Timothy verse twice in one day probably means something… I can't wait to hear what's next!

Cheryl, 2010 is my year of conquering everything. Well, maybe not everything. I decided to drop my last non-profit contract and focus only on the career industry side of me. I will travel to three industry conferences this year, first ever, despite 25 years in the industry. I'm trusting that I will have enough income to pay down debt, learn from my colleagues, and I hope to finally get going on my kitchen remodel. I'm not fond of driving on snow or ice either so I admire you for surpassing that fear and moving forward! The Timothy verse has been a favorite of mine and it was in the devotion I read this morning too!
